About Chapter Events

ITS Rocky Mountain conferences are held on even-numbered years with rotating workshops being scheduled on odd-numbered years. This encourages partnering with other groups and subsequently raises the awareness of ITS and the Chapter.

The 2002 Annual Meeting and Conference was held in Salt Lake City, Utah on October 2-4, 2002.

The ITS Rocky Mountain Chapter attempted to collect a copy of each speaker's presentation from the sessions.  To this end, we were greatly aided by the speakers' willingness to share their presentations.  It should be noted that these presentations are the sole property of the originator [speaker] and should not be utilized, modified, etc. without the originators express permission.

Olympic Panel - The 2002 Olympic Winter GAmes have been recognized as being highly successful in many aspects from the events themselves, to transit and highway operations and ITS. More than 3 billion people were watching worldwide and nearly 2 million tickets were sold for events. This session introduced participants to some of the people from the Utah Department of Transportation, Utah Transit Authority, Salt Lake City and the Salt Lake Olympic Committee that made it happen.

Session H - National Parks: Advanced Technology Success Stories for Meeting Visitor Needs and Protecting Resources.  This session highlighted activities in the Rocky Mountain Region and nationally that address access to national Parks.
